Compare At Price is a Shopify app that adds checkout UI extension blocks to your store, showing customers how much they are saving based on compare-at prices set on your products. This page explains how the app handles data — in short, it doesn't collect or store any.

To calculate savings, the app reads product pricing data — specifically the compare-at price and selling price — directly from Shopify's API at the moment a customer is on the checkout page. This is the only data the app touches, and it is used purely to display the correct savings figure. Nothing is written to any database or external server.
We do not collect or retain any personal or business information about
merchants. The only store-level access we have is the
read_products permission, which lets the app read product
pricing. We do not read orders, customer profiles, financials, or any
other store data.
The app has no visibility into who is checking out. It does not access, read, or store any of the following:
Customer data at checkout stays entirely within Shopify's own infrastructure — the app never sees it.
The pricing data fetched during checkout is used for one purpose only: rendering the savings display (strikethrough price, save badge, and banners) for the customer currently on the page. It is not logged, aggregated, analysed, or used for any marketing or advertising purpose.
Compare At Price operates without any external database or storage layer. Pricing data is fetched on demand and discarded the moment the response is rendered. There is no record of which products were viewed, which stores were active, or which customers went through checkout.
We do not sell, transfer, or share any data — merchant or customer — with third parties. The app does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising scripts, or tracking tools. The only external system the app communicates with is Shopify's own API.
If ever required by law — for example, in response to a valid legal order — we would comply with that obligation, though given we hold no data there would be nothing to provide.
The best protection against a data breach is not storing data in the first place. Because Compare At Price holds no merchant or customer information on any server we control, there is no database to compromise. All operations run within Shopify's secure checkout infrastructure.
We support Shopify's mandatory privacy compliance webhooks. Since no personal data is held by the app, any request for data export or deletion is automatically satisfied — there is simply nothing to provide or remove. The following webhooks are handled:
You are always in full control. The app can be installed or removed from your Shopify Admin at any time. Removing the app immediately revokes its access to your store — no further API calls are made and no data of any kind is retained after uninstall.
Compare At Price is a business tool intended for Shopify merchants. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13.
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally, though we do not anticipate significant changes given the app's minimal data footprint.
